(Topic description: The author will present a case study demonstrating the many difficulties creators and the public encounter when trying to determine the copyright status of older works in the United States. In addition to illustrating the ephemerality and inaccessibility of the public domain, this case study demonstrates that these difficulties are greater for indigenous communities in the United States.)
